The exhibition „Hide“ presents two young viewpoints of contemporary photography. A variety of motives and techniques underlies the two artist’s approach to the classical genre of atmospheric landscape.

By means of digital manipulation and sewing on glitter-materials Mireille Schellborn’s work „Night Hawk“ (2005) from the series „Black Magic“ transforms images of trees into romantic, constellation-like collages that burst the boundaries of the photographic medium.The triptych „Electric Park“ (2006) on the other hand has an almost cubistic feel, showing office architecture at night narrowed down to it’s crystalline forms.

Wood landscape is the underlying motif of the series „Forstmarkierer“ by Markus Neis in 2004. Deserted nature, seemingly untouched by civilization that only reveals it’s true identity on second sight.

The series „Folgelandschaften“, that was started in 2006, also shows assumedly idyllic nature. Only the title discloses the landscape’s secret and explains the intuitively perceived melancholic-mystical atmosphere conveyed by the images.
